A quick post on Thursday night’s  gig in the Alliance Francaise auditorium.
Organized by the French Cultural Centre, and Ketebul Productions, it was a poorly attended concert of 70/80 people.

Guitarist: Suzzana Owiyo performs at the concert
Thankfully the attendance didn’t affect the atmosphere, such was the electric performance by the two artists, the larger than life maestro Suzzana Owiyo and Winyo Winyo.
Suzzana thrilled the audience with her great vocals, plucking on the guitar and nyatiti, and shaking the "jawa" to the applause of the enchanted audience. Her tunes were nuanced by social teachings, even belting a tune from her upcoming album.

Performed: Winyo Winyo

Pluck: Suzzana on nyatiti
And when she took to the stage with Kisumu Dala song, everyone was up their seats, and Usain Bolts trademark gesture of flight marked a flight to Kisumu by the fans.

Winyo Winyo was equally astounding, one fan said, "this is our own Nyboma". Clad in white linen shirt and trousers, the guru went to work with quite a unique fusion of guitar, which he played with applomb, with a voice that hit the high notes with ease.
